#2015So we are now three weeks into January which basically means its almost summer, and it is already evident that 2015 has great potential #NewYearNewContent . At Viral Spiral we have signed up some of the newest videos and best videos of the year already. From a girl almost choking on a slice of Turkey, to an emotional moment shared with a man who learns to walk again - you name it, we got it!With it being January, there isn’t really a particular theme trending on YouTube, with New years celebrations finished and Valentines yet to come. However there is some great new music out, and Bruno Mars has been top of the charts since we entered the year. The catchy melody of ‘Uptown Funk’ has been a real crowd pleaser, and for this uptown funky baby there was no resisting a good dance.Another recent upload that has great potential of going viral is the incredible moment when the impossible was captured. Drumroll please…..YES that moment is indeed when it was discovered possible to swipe a knife under a Jenga block without it falling! And you can watch it right here:Not only have we humans therefore provided many a laugh, but there has also been some great animal content that has made us chuckle. This cute pet rat Dexter for example, 'politely' tries to tell his owner he does not like broccoli. Bring on 2015… Bye Bye 2014So, how is this year going to be better you might ask? Well, with the demand for digital media growing due to the progression of online advertising and the growing success of branded content, opportunity is endless. For example, did you know that in 2014 branded content was found to be the most successful marketing tactic for creating experiences, and encouragingly is still predicted to grow by 10% this year!The idea of creating experiences therefore, has also been a big trend on YouTube, with many of us enjoying the power of being your own director. The thought of entertaining the masses has really inspired creators to up their game creatively. This has caused many of us have to log on and watch more content, which in the last year  has increased watch time massively by at least 50% particularly on ads. Can you believe that this means we have watched over 1 billion minutes in 2014...for example the film like ad from Nike that came out in April, has had over 100 million views despite being over 4 minutes long!Of course viral videos also play a big part to the popularity of YouTube, and this year the public’s favourite goes to the Mutant Giant Spider Dog (SA Wardega) which had over 120 million views in three months.  Prank content really took off in 2014 and we recommend you check out a few of our favourites that have some great reactions; such as the Awkward Microphone Prank and the BEST EVER REACTION TO A SPIDER.
